The Polish Academy of Sciences is a corporation of the Polish leading research institutes. The Institute of Psychology was established in 1980. The main areas of research are: political psychology; cross-cultural psychology; social psychology; economic psychology and ecological psychology; the psychology of personality and the psychology of individual differences; psycholinguistic and cognitive psychology; the social development of adolescents. Unique specializations of the Institute are political psychology and cross-cultural psychology. Authorized to confer the academic degrees of doctor and doctor of social sciences in psychology. The Institute employs 32 scholars.
